One in four adults in America has a disability. Yet our country continues to treat people with disabilities as second-class citizens in many ways. Many municipalities treat ADA regulations as optional, and residents have to fight to get their basic rights respected. People with disabilities live in poverty at much higher rates than people without disabilities do.
